"Go the Distance!"

" Ryan’s Friends"
organization established
in 1997 in memory of Ryan Sergent, a
Flat Rock High School senior who collapsed
and died during
practice with the
Flat Rock cross country team.
The charity organization embraces several southeastern
Michigan communities to help people in need.
*Collections are distributed to surrounding area soup kitchens, homeless
shelters, Churches and schools in an around our community
(Downriver/Southeastern Michigan).
"An Apple For Ryan" Food Drive
–
Second week of October
Food Drive, collecting non-perishable food items.
"Coat and Blanket Drive"– Second week of November
Collecting coats, blankets, gloved, jeans, shoes and clothing to
help others stay warm during the chilly winter months ahead.
" Domestic
Violence Drive" – Mother’s Day weekend, May
Collecting non-perishable food products, paper products, cleaning
supplies, and batteries, all donated to the "Safe House", a domestic
violence Shelter of Monroe County.
" Clothes
Drive" – Last week of July
Collecting men’s clean or new t-shirts (colored or white), socks and
underwear all distributed to "Menna Meal Soup Kitchen" in Detroit.
"Ryan’s Run"
– Second week of September
